Secret Waterfalls – Summer of Anglesey Wildlife Walks – July

Secret Waterfalls of the Aber Valley, Tuesday 30th July, 10.30 am – 3pm.

This is a beautiful walk, very accessible for families giving you a real taste of the beauty of the mountains without climbing or going far off the beaten track. I will meet you in Aber village off the A55 Expressway and we will start the walk from the car park up the valley. The walk to the main waterfall passes oak woodland and river views, backed by the Carneddau mountain range. We will enjoy the dramatic Aber Falls before walking just a little further, to a smaller, more secret waterfall.
After a picnic we will head back down the valley. Wildlife along the route will be enjoyed and identified.

Family Hill Walking Taster Day, Wednesday 31st July, 10.30 am to 3pm
The ‘foothills’ of Snowdonia are an ideal, safe environment to have your first experience of hillwalking. We will climb Moel Faban (behind Rachub, Nr Bangor) where great views of the mountains of Snowdonia can be seen. We will learn how to read a map and use a compass. Walking towards Moel Wnion you get a feeling of the wildness of the mountains and you can learn more about navigation and the wildlife of the area. We may climb a second peak depending on how fit you feel, have a picnic and head home!

Both walks are suitable for families.
